Gernot Minke

Our architect, Gernot Minke, is an internationally recognized expert in ecological construction. He was a professor at the University of Kassel, where he taught and researched in the areas of building with clay, straw bales, and green roofs. Due to his numerous publications in Spanish, he is known in Latin America as the "Padre de la Bioconstrucción." For many years, Gernot Minke has been involved in the Valle Tucán project in Paraguay. His designs include chain-vaulted, barrel-vaulted, and domed roofs constructed from self-made clay bricks.

Natural colors in the Valle Tucán

Stefan and his wife Monika are building a double-hobbit house in Valle Tucán. He is a building biologist and measurement technician and runs the AUTAX Naturbau-Farben company in Germany. When it comes to questions about healthy, pollutant-free construction, Stefan is the right person to contact. For the plastering and painting work in his double-hobbit house, Stefan brought a complete range of Kreidezeit products with him. Kreidezeit has been manufacturing ecologically sound products from natural and renewable raw materials since 1987. In a conversation with Ralf, Stefan explains the necessary steps for applying the colored lime paint to the clay vaults and the agony of choice with such a wide range of color pigments.
